Applications are invited for the position of one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India sponsored research project titled ‘Investigation Of Synergic Effects Of Methylene Blue Adsorbed Cerium Oxide Nanoparticles As Therapeutics For Alzheimer`s Disease’.

Fellowship: Rs 25,000 plus House Rent Allowance (HRA) per month fixed for first two years and Rs 28,000 plus HRA per month fixed for the third year for post  graduate degree in Basic Sciences with CSIR, ICMR, UGC-JRF,  GATE, or ICMR, GATE qualified Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course.

For others: Fellowship amount Rs. 16,000 + admissible HRA.

Duration: 3 years.

Registration for  Ph.D.  : Selected candidate should register for full time Ph.D. programme at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University), Kattankulathur, Chennai.

Essential qualification:  M.Sc./M.S. Biochemistry/Molecular  Biology/Biotechnology or  M.Tech. Biotechnology/Genetic  Engineering. The candidates who have qualified CSIR/ICMR/UGC/NET/GATE will be preferred.
Knowledge and  experience in western blotting, primer design, PCR, ELISA, tissue culture and other biochemical/molecular techniques are preferable. Hands on experience in handling insects (Drosophila melanogaster) or scientific writing will be distinction.
