The National Level Workshop on Advances in Positioning, Navigation and Communication will take place on 17th and 18th August 2017 in SRM University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
Localization is touching every aspect of our everyday life. Location based services are featured in widely used applications in cellular communication – emergency services, weather forecast delivery, social networking, targeted advertising, navigation, are just a few. Not only cellular -- positioning/location technologies are dominant in virtually all wireless network deployments for a myriad of commercial, industrial, governmental and military uses. Although mobile position-aware systems, combined with modern wireless technologies are becoming increasingly present in daily life, there are still technological obstacles and challenges in finding accurate location and tracking information. This workshop will be devoted to recent advances in positioning, navigation and communications, as well as current state-of-the-art in techniques and systems. Hands-on and practical sessions on positioning techniques and GIS tools will be provided. (Refer brochure for more details)
