Apart from the inpatient and outpatient wards, the department runs an Intensive Medical Care Unit, an Intensive Cardiac Care Unit and a Respiratory Intensive Care Unit, as well as a Toxicology Center that specializes in snake-bite management.
The hospital boasts of one of the largest blood banks in the country and can provide emergency assistance as necessary. Needy patients can expect free medicine, beds and a nutritious special diet. A junior resident is always on standby to attend to patients and to assist the faculty in supervising students during their bedside proceedings like lumbar puncture, paracentesis, pleural effusion tapping and bone marrow trephine.
The central laboratory has a state of the art CT Scan, USG, and other radiological studio apparatus that cater to patients round the clock. Faculty members assist students in conducting common tests such as Pulmonary Function Test (PFT), Electro Encephalo Gram (EEG) and Treadmill Test (TMT). The diabetic clinic involves the services of a dietician, a diabetic educator and dialectologist to provide quality care for patients.
