The department boasts of a spacious 9000 sq. ft. ultra modern centrally air-conditioned out patient set up. The out patient department has 35 fully functional dental chairs and 3 intraoral X-ray units and 1 panoramic radiograph, cephalometric and TMJ tomography unit.

The department is headed by professor Dr. K. Rajkumar, a dedicated teacher and astute clinician who is assisted by a well informed and highly motivated team of readers and lecturers to train the students of final year and 3rd year B.D.S., in the ever changing and advancing procedures in clinical oral medicine. The department has a daily out patient strength of around 500 patients. Cancer screening and treatment of submucus fibrosis are done here. Specialized investigation procedures like sialography are also
taken up.
