Knowledge has no limits learning has no end. The Department of Commerce has successfully organised a one day conference on importance of “International Financial Reporting Standards” (IFRS) course along with their degree. Speech by the eminent speaker provoked the students to enrol themself into the 60 hour class that enriches their knowledge on the changing standard of accounts globally. This conference has also helped students to know about the importance of learning “Accounting standards” (AS), “Indian Accounting standards” (IND AS) and about “International Financial Reporting Standards” (IFRS) 

International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) are designed as a common global language for business affairs so that company accounts are understandable and comparable across international boundaries. They are a consequence of growing international shareholding and trade and are particularly important for companies that have dealings in several countries. They are progressively replacing the many different national accounting standards. They are the rules to be followed by accountants to maintain books of accounts which are comparable, understandable, reliable and relevant as per the users internal or external.

Sahitya Akademi is an India’s National Literary Academy, This organization functions since 1954 for the promotion of literature in Indian languages. It organizes national and regional workshops and seminars and provides research and travel grants to authers; publishes books and journals in Indian languages.

Sahitya Akademi in collaboration with Tamil Perayam of SRM university is conducting a two day seminar on ‘Recent Trends in South Indian Literature on 06 & 07.02.2017 at SRM University at Dr.T.P. Ganesan Mini Hall I Kattankulathur campus.

The founder Chancellor Dr. T.R. Paarivendhar realizing the responsibility to spread the values of Tamil language and culture around the world and to honour the Tamil Scholars and Contributors for the growth of Tamil language had established Tamil Perayam during 2011.

This forum offers very valuable services for Tamil for the past  5 years. It conducts courses as Tamil Arutsunignar (rituals preference in Tamil), Diaspara Tamil Teacher, Yoga etc., Every year 12 awards to the tune of Rs.22 Lacs are given to authors of best Tamil books, renowned Tamil scholars, Life time achiever, Tamil organization best Tamil journal etc., Paarivendhar students Tamil mandram is functioning under this forum encourages and develops Tamil Interest among the students. In addition to the above it also publishes books on Tamil language and literature for popularizing the Tamil treasure among the public act to the world.

It also conducts national seminars in collaboration with Sahitya Akademi, Indian Council for Social Science Research etc., Literature being the mirror of society is to be considered as an important thing. Even in the modern scientific era, we cannot ignore the importance of literature.

The seminar on Modern Trends in South Indian Literature is not only for the researchers and Literary personalities,It will also help the people who are interested in literature.

Press Release - Inaugural Function

In a first of its kind for Tamil Nadu, the Indian Society of Chemists and Biologists and SRM University’s College of Pharmacy are organizing an International Conference on the Theme of Chemical Biology in Drug Research between February 8 and 10, 2017.

More than 20 international and 30 national experts will be attending the meet. With one of the major objectives being to motivate young minds to develop new drugs, vaccines and cure for diseases, the Conference also stands to benefit researchers and students on the present state of the discipline.

The inaugural address was given by Dr.T.R.Paarivendhar, Founder Chancellor of SRM University and guest of honor was Professor Michael D.Threadgill, Department of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, University of Bath, U.K. Dr Anamik Shah, President ISCB has presided over the conference.

The conference was felicitated by Dr.T.P Ganesan, Pro Vice Chancellor, SRM University, Dr.N.Sethuraman Registrar, SRM University, Dr.N.Chandraprabha, Director Health Sciences, SRM University. Dr. K.S.Lakshmi Dean, SRM College of Pharmacy gave welcome address to the gathering, while Dr P.M.S Chauhan, General Secretary ISCB gave presidential address, the introduction about ISCB were described.

The Indian Society of Chemists and  Biologists (ISCB) has around 600 members and has grown over the past 16 years drawing from academic, industrial and research fields covering a wide range of scientific and technical research. The central secretariat is situated in Lucknow.

In the past delegates from India and abroad including USA, UK, Russia, France, Finland Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Taiwan and Kuwait have participated in conferences of the ISCB with several scientists and Nobel laureates presenting their work and sharing research findings on drug research, chemical sciences, bio-nanotech, chemical biology, glycobiology and biochemistry.

India has an excellent youth power and knowledge that can focus on newer drug research which would be beneficial to the society in turn they can avail the fruits of such developments. The theme of the conference ISCBC-2017 will be matching with the current trend in drug developments which implies “Interface of Chemical Biology in Drug Research”.

In the past ISCB has instituted awards distributed every year for excellence, youth scientists, distinguished women scientists, industrial scientists, lifetime achievement award with a view to identifying research excellence in chemical biology and drug research so as to encourage and motivate academicians, researchers and industrialists.

The inauguration ceremony ended with the vote of thanks by Dr.V.Chitra, Vice Principal, SRM College of Pharmacy. This international conference continues for three days

There were about 650 participants from India and abroad. The scientific sessions were highly useful for the young researchers who participated in the conference.

In the valedictory function Dr.V.Chitra , Vice Principal, SRM College of Pharmacy, gave welcome address to the gathering, while Prof. Anamik Shah, President ISCB presented the sumup address.

The presidential address was given by Dr.P.Thangaraju ,Pro Vice Chancellor Medical, SRM University, and Dr.N.Chandraprabha , Director, Health Sciences, SRM University gave special address.

The ISCB appreciation award for Industrial scientist was presented to Dr.Keshav Deo, Senior Vice president, Wockhardt.

The best poster presentation under chemistry was awarded to Dr. Rotwik Samantha and under biological sciences it was shared by Ms. Precious Debora and Ms. Hafsa Ahmed.

Prof. Anil Singh and Dr.K.Deo, distributed the certificates to the participants.
The valedictory function ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. K.S.Lakshmi, Dean, SRM College of Pharmacy
