Fourth National Conference on Research in Electronics Engineering and Communication Techniques - REACT'18

Organized by Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology

REACT is the national conference organized by Department of ECE, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Vadapalani. It focuses on recent research in Electronics and Communication Engineering. The conference is scheduled to be conducted from 6th to 7th April of 2018. This is the 4th national conference conducted by ECE dept in our campus. It offers a platform for young budding engineers, research scholars to showcase their research work.

The inaugural function commenced with the lighting of "Kuthuvilaku", a symbol of wisdom. Dr.C.Gomathy, HOD of ECE dept, addressed the dignitaries on the dais and welcomed the gathering. Dr.A. Shirly Edward, Coordinator, REACT'18 presented the Conference report. The special address was given by Dr.K.Duraivelu, Dean (E&T), he spoke about industrial revolution to digitalization. The chief guest Dr. Latha Christie, Associate Director and Scientist G, DRDO Bangalore, delivered the inaugural address. She spoke on basics of electromagnetic spectrum for space and warfare application. The guest of honour was Mrs. Naveena Swamy, Chief innovation officer, IIT Madras Research Park. She spoke about innovations and startups. The function was concluded by Mrs.D.Vaishali AP (ECE).

The inauguration was followed by keynote session on "EM spectrum for space and warfare applications" by Dr. Latha Christie followed by a keynote session on "Startup Fairy Tales from Silicon valley and India by Mrs. Naveena Swamy.

On 7th April 2018, a keynote session was arranged on "Engineering Problem Solving" by Dr.Shreepad Karmalkar, Professor, IIT Madras followed by the paper presentation sessions.

The oral presentation papers of the Conference are segregated into four broad areas namely:

VLSI and Embedded Systems, Sensors and Instrumentation, Wireless Communication and Networking and Signal and Image Processing.

Around 160 papers were selected out of the received papers for the conference. Selected peer-reviewed papers will be published in Scopus indexed journals.
