AARAMBH is a start-up club of SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University) Vadapalani Campus that brings together the young minds with dreams of becoming an entrepreneur in the field of engineering and technology. The ECE department conducted the first Start up conclave on 9th April, 2016. The event received a huge response from the students. So, the department came up with the idea of forming a startup club for the students. The club was named AARAMBH and several aspiring future entrepreneurs registered for its membership. The club was officially inaugurated on 26th September, 2016.
On April 8th, 2017 AARAMBH conducted its Youth Conclave Summit for the year of 2017. The event was inaugurated by nine eminent personalities who are achievers in real life. The guests were Mr. Ravindran Natarajan, Mr. Suneil Chawla, Ms. Kirthi Jayakumar and Mr. Aasife Ahmed as the keynote speakers and Mr. Binny Rajkumar, Mr. Senthil Nayagam, Mr. L. Hemachandran, Mr. Shashikanth Jayaraman as the panel members and Mr. Parasuraman Krishnamoorthy as the moderator for the Panel discussion
Dr.C.Gomathy, HOD/ECE, started the event by welcoming all the guests and the audience. The Dean, Dr. K. Duraivelu(E&T) gave an insight on Startup India and Make in India in his special address. Asst Prof. Mrs. Shirley Edward gave an introduction about AARAMBH and stated that the Youth Conclave Summit’17 is second in the series of the conclaves conducted by AARAMBH. The Dean felicitated the guests with mementos. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the SOCH- business model presentation event which was conducted earlier.
The session started off with the first keynote speaker Mr. Ravindran Natarajan, Director of Business Development, Trimble Navigation giving an inspirational speech on his struggles towards success .He advised the students to “Learn, unlearn and relearn” as that is the helping mantra for success.
Mr. Suneil Chawla, Founder & CEO, Social Beat, gave a small presentation on ‘Influence of Digital India on Entrepreneurs’. He gave some significant tips on how to market your startup online.
Ms. Kirti Jayakumar, Founder & CEO, The Red Elephant Foundation, the third keynote speaker spoke on women empowerment, the difficulties she had faced and the achievements she has made as a social entrepreneur.
The fourth and last keynote speaker was Dr.CY.Aasife Ahmed. He spoke about the history of his famous Aasife Hotel and the difficulties he faced to come up to the position of his, as of today, from an unrecognized man who was considered a failure. His speech was well received with big hands off.
By 2:30pm, the panel discussion started off at the auditorium with the panel members Mr. Binny Rajkumar (Founder of Arrit Events), Mr. Senthil Nayagam (CEO of Any commerce), Mr. L. Hemachandran (Founder & CEO of Brand Avatar), Mr. Shashikanth Jayaraman (Founder of HR Sangam, CEO & Principle Adnisory of Hex Advisory PVT LTD.) and Mr. Parasuraman Krishnamoorthy (Director of Samrriddhi Leadership Academy) as the moderator. They discussed about the different kinds of difficulties they faced in life and the key decisions that made them what they are today. The panel discussion was very interactive with guests being very friendly to the students. The Moderator concluded the panel discussion with “Blamers are always victims and Game changers are always victorious” and asked the young minds present in the auditorium to not be afraid of failures, for every failure can be become an opportunity. The guests were thanked and the conclave came to an end with our National Anthem.
