Dr. Sukhendu Ghosh

Ph.D (IIT Madras)

Research Assistant Professor

Dr. Ghosh joined SRM Research Institute & Department of Mathematics, SRM University as a Research Assistant Professor in August 2016. Before joining SRM University, he was working as a post-doctoral research associate at Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, Bengaluru. He completed his PhD in the year 2015 from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, Chennai. After the submission of PhD thesis, he has continued his research career as an institute postdoctoral fellow at IIT Madras, Chennai from August 2015 to May 2016. Dr. Ghosh received his M.Sc. degrees in Mathematics also from IIT Madras, Chennai in the year 2011.

Dr. Ghosh mainly works on Fluid Dynamics and related areas of Applied Mathematics. His Current research aims:

  • to examine the linear and nonlinear stability characteristics of thin film flows in different geometries,
  • to understand the physical mechanism that causes the instabilities in the wall bounded as well as free surface flows,
  • to look for methods to control the instabilities.
