The Department of Business Administration was started in the year 2007 with 49 Students with an objective of providing a quality education and to enable the student community to take up the responsibility to build managerial skills with the purpose of moulding them as management leaders, senior administrators and executives in the industry. Initially this Department commenced its activities within the Department of Commerce but started functioning independently from June 2009. Currently, the department has a student strength of about 880, and is one of the largest in the Faculty of Science and Humanities offering the Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.

Students are required to complete 30 days of institutional training in public or private limited company and they have to submit a group project report. The syllabus is revised periodically to reflect the current academic and employment environments. The specializations that a student is expected to be exposed in work environment include Human Resources Management, Management Principles, Business Communication, Financial and Management Accounting, Banking, Entrepreneurial Development, Business and Company Law and Insurance. Department is trying to enhance the knowledge, skill and ability among students to perform in all aspects, in the field of management. It also tries to make them to administer themselves to adopt the present business conditions.  

The department has an excellent track record in the placement of graduating students in many of top-tier corporate houses in India especially in the southern states.
