Student of SRM bags position in 12th NCRM NICHE held in Tokyo, Japan

It is a matter of pride for the SRM community to announce the achievement of Mr. Nair Ashish Dinesh, a student of the Department of Genetic Engineering of B. Tech 3rd Year. Ashish represented SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University) in the International Event of NCRM NICHE 2017 held on October 23, 2017, in Tokyo, Japan and was awarded the first position for his Oral Presentation on the Cytotoxic Effect of Adenanthera Aavonina Seed Extracts on Cancer and Normal Cell Lines. His paper was selected as the best paper presentation from NCRM NICHE delegates working on Regenerative Medicine. Ashish was under the guidance of Dr. Devi. A during the whole project who is the lab in-charge of Stem Cell Biology Lab, Department of Genetic Engineering.

The NCRM is an institution that was formed in the year 2006 Chennai to conduct meetings on Stem Cell & Regenerative Medicine. The event was initially a State Level Event which later became a National Level Event and presently it is recognized as an International Event. The 12th NCRM NICHE an Inter-Disciplinary Conclave was conducted as part of the NCRM NICHE event on October 23, 2017, in Tokyo, Japan. The event had FCQ Elites and a group of Active Knowledge Gaining delegates of the NCRM NICHE 2017 who visited the Shibaura Institute of Technology in Japan to serve as the Jury for selecting the best presentations by the NCRM NICHE representatives working on Regenerative Medicine and those by the students of SIT working on Healthcare Applications.
